Fund a developer.
Build a nation.
$700 puts one developer through a 20-week professional engineering program. Your support gives developers the time, mentorship and hands-on experience to build software people use.

What it costs
$700 is the whole thing.
Twenty weeks. Real projects, shipped. Code reviewed by working engineers. That is the delivered cost of one developer’s place, and it is low because the program runs where our developers live — not because it is thin.

Not a coding course
We train professional engineers.
Developers work in teams for twenty weeks, take code review from experienced Technical Leads, and ship products people actually use. We keep cohorts small on purpose — 27 products have come out of them by 2026, and we can name every graduate behind them.
Training alone does not create a job. Our graduates face much the same employment market as everyone else in Lesotho and Botswana, and we would rather say so. That is why we did not stop at teaching: the Foundry has created 28 engineering jobs by 2026, because the market was not going to create them on its own.

A few things
you might want to know.
For a larger gift, a partnership, or a question about supporting the program, talk with us.
What does a monthly gift do?
Regular support lets us plan a cohort before it starts. At $140 a month you are covering a developer’s place for that month. Your amount is charged monthly; to change or cancel it, email [email protected].
Is my gift tax-deductible?
Africa Code Academy Inc. is a US 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 82-2131888. US gifts are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. For receipt help, contact [email protected].
How can it cost so much less than a bootcamp?
The program is delivered in Lesotho and Botswana, where salaries and operating costs are a fraction of US equivalents, and our Technical Leads are paid local professional rates. The figures above are the real delivered costs of running a cohort, converted at 2026 rates.
Does my gift fund one specific person?
No. Gifts are pooled across scholarships, equipment, mentorship and operations. The per-developer figures show what the program costs to deliver; they are not a sponsorship of a named individual.
Will donating sign me up for emails?
No. Donation records and optional program updates are kept separate. Read our privacy policy.
